Very sad news

My dad told me last night that my neighbor, Merlot, a pug, ran out of his house and was hit by a car.  Dad said he is in doggie heaven and I believe him.  Merlot would bark at me when I passed his house, which is right across the street from mine.  Sometimes when he would get out my mom or dad would chase him and pick him up and bring him home.  I don't know why he wasn't happy in his back yard playing with his sister Heidi, a German shepherd.  I know his mom loved him very much.  I am very sad.
