Ready for fall

As you can see, my mom helped me decorate my personal space for fall.

This is a picture of me enjoying my personal space.

Further adventures

Often my life as an elder canine is very boring - eat, sleep, entertain my parents...but some exciting things have happened lately so I'll tell you about them.

First I spent a week in the city with my brother and Jin.  It was a change of pace and offered me many new things to smell.

This is me and my brother.
He took me on a long ride and guess what!  My parents were there!  Don't I look happy to be back in my truck...

Then we went to visit my cousin Teddy.  Here we are enjoying bully sticks together...A bully stick is truly a wonderful thing and a good thing to share with your relatives.

Now my parents and I are in the woods somewhere. I am enjoying the foliage.

I am a very sensitive canine

Bark in the Park at Citifield

On Monday my parents took me to a baseball game.  I saw the Mets play at Citifield.  They lost -sigh!

However, I had the honor of leading over 300 canines on a walk around the outfield!  I did this once when the Mets still played at Shea so I am a pro!  I always consider it a great honor that I am selected to do this.

Here I am walking around the field with my Dad and some woman

Now I am in my seat enjoying the game
 I'm a happy fan!
Sharing a treat with my Dad
With my Mom and Dad on the Pepsi Porch

We had a lot of fun and I ate a lot.  At about 2 in the morning I threw up.

A busy week or so

I'm home now.

I've been home for a while.  I've even had time to go to Best in Show and visit with my friend Zoe...

My last weekend on the road was very busy.  I camped with my Airstream camping club at a very nice place in the 1000 Islands - no I have not counted them - I don't have enough toes - but I believe it is true.

I also met the family of one of my mom's friends.  They loved me and enjoyed petting me.  They loved me so much that they DIDN'T make me go in their boat with them.  This is them...

And this is my whole camping club...
When I got home I saw my brother and Jin.  That was REALLY exciting!

Teddy

Do you see another canine in this picture?
I'm the incredibly attractive canine in front.  It is my blog and I'm sure that since you're reading it you really want to see a picture of me.

The other canine in the picture is my cousin Teddy.  He lives with my Aunt Ellen and Uncle Gary and Cousins Erica and Jon when they're home.

Here you see us spending some quality time together at Teddy's house.  He makes a lot of noise and is very protective of his bones.  He is not as good a guard as I am.  But he's OK.  Even a canine can't choose his or her relatives...

Lunch out

Yesterday my parents took me for a long ride.  It was very enjoyable and I got to catch up on my sleep.

My parents also took me for lunch.  We ate at a place called Country Kitchen.  I was admired by several people and my parent fed me delicious food from the table.

I do so enjoy spending the day with my parents.

More beaches

My parents took me to another beach.

I think I'm getting used to them.  I even put my paws in the water - just a bit..

First I had a confrontation with a log.

Then I decided to just look beautiful in case anyone was looking...

Always on guard!

I am always guarding my family against strange canines and strange people.

When I can't sit outside my Airstream and guard them, I guard them by looking through the front screen door.

This is a picture of me guarding my family....
I am also guarding my father's shoe.

This is a picture of me watching my mom take a picture of me guarding my family and my father's shoe....

Finally!

I know, you're going to say it's time that I Finally updated my blog!  Well, this time it's not only the thumbs issue, but the fact that things have been very boring lately.  My parents have been going out and having fun but they've been leaving me behind.  Very Boring!

But suddenly they started taking me places!  Yesterday we went for a ride and ended up at a big beach with a lighthouse.  As you know, I'm not fond of the water but I humored my parents and put my paws in the water.  I also barked at the water.  I don't know what came over me...

Water...
Me staring at the water...

Then, today, they took me to a bridge and insisted on taking my picture in front of it.  I guess I make everything look better...

Me, and me...

The things my parents do to me....

We have been staying at a lovely campground at an army base in Minnesota.  There are wonderful tall trees

and nice grass for me to lay on while I am guarding things.

Today my parents said they were taking me to a museum!  How exciting!  I love to get out and learn things and let people admire me!

Well, they took me to this military museum.  First Dad put me on a tank!

I was less than thrilled!

Then he stuck my head in this hole and I came out looking like this!
They think I look great!

What am I going to do with my parents!!!???

"We're busy! You're in the way!"

Do your parents say that to you a lot?

Well, mine do - I just don't understand it - don't they realize I'm actually helping them.

Just by being in the middle of everything and allowing them to look at me I'm really making them happy.  How can they look at me and not be happy?

They just don't understand.

Seaman - again

My parents brought me some more picture of that excellent canine Seaman who traveled across the who country with his dear friends Lewis and Clark.

Many place here have pictures of Seaman and there are also large statues of him...

What a splendid looking canine!

Perhaps some day there will be a statue of me.!  After all, I have traveled a lot and I do blog about it which makes me extra special!

A Poem for my parents...

A poem:

I love my mom
I love my dad
When they leave me in the Airstream all day by myself with a stuffed possum for company
I am sad!

This is me and my parents...

Renewing friendships

I was very pleased that this trip to wherever we are allowed me to renew my friendship with my dear friends Cathy and Larry.

They came to dinner at my Airstream and of course, were delighted to see me.

We took a long walk...

They even invited me to their home but they have cats.  I just don't do cats so I stayed back at the Airstream.

A famous canine - Seaman - what a silly name for a canine!

a sketch of Seaman

My parents and I have been traveling in the steps of two famous explorers - Lewis and Clark.

I don't know much about them but I do know that they had a canine with them named Seaman.

Seaman was a very brave and resourceful canine.  He caught squirrels and protected his human friends from danger.  He was a very good looking canine...

Seaman sounds a lot like me.

Goodbyes are sad

Yes, they are...

My dear friend Heidi left a few days ago.  She is sad that she left because she liked sticking her head in gopher holes.

My human friends left too.  They are very dear to me because they feed me.

This is a picture of my human friends.

For some reason they posed by this big bird....
I like the close up picture better because you can see my mom and day better.

How I fool my parents!

You all know that I am an unusually clever canine.  I will now tell you how I fool my parents into thinking that I sleep with them all night!

My parents want me to sleep with them in their bedroom in my Airstream.  They appear to rest more comfortably when they can hear my gentle, melodious breathing.

I am happy to accommodate my parents.  However, I often prefer to sleep in my house in the living portion of my Airstream.

This is what I do!

Every night I go into the bedroom and curl up at the foot of the bed.  I breath.  They get tired.  As soon as the last one turns off the light I wait a few minutes and then I get up and go to my house to sleep.  Then, as the sun comes up, I leave my house and return to the foot of the bed.  How clever of me!

I'm sure that even though my parents both get up in the middle of the night to wee-wee they never notice that I am gone!

Cleaning up

Since I am known as an extremely trustworthy and hard working canine I am often asked to clean up dropped food after various events.

Today was no exception and I was asked to do the cleanup after the Airstreamer's BBQ.  They had a lovely selection of BBQ'd beef, frankfurters, potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans, creamed corn, jalapeno poppers, pecan and key lime pies, fruit and cookies.

This is a picture of me cleaning up...

Please notice the intense, hardworking look on my face as I go about my duties...

Retiring from the circuit....

I believe the time has come for me to retire from the canine show circuit.

I have won my share of ribbons and believe it is time to let some other canines win theirs.

Here are some pictures taken at my final show at the Airstream rally in Huron, SD:

This is me waiting to "go on..."

Here I am greeting the judges...

This is my friend Heidi and her Dad.  She also participated in the show.

The fact that I didn't win anything has NOTHING to do with the fact that I am retiring!  See the reasons given above...

Heidi

I have made a new friend - a fine canine named Heidi.

She is very large and likes to fun a lot.

This is me and Heidi sharing some quality time together.

My Dad is famous!

My good friend Josh saw the video that was made of the interview with my Dad and sent us the link.

This is the link: http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-23116820

Take a look at the video.

Now my Dad is famous!

I am famous!

It's so hard to catch up!

My parents' wi-fi card didn't work so of course I could not blog...

And so much has happened!

We're at a big Airstream rally with lots of my Airstream friends both human and canine.

We barely got settled before this lovely woman Ann - from France - another country - came to interview my Dad.

Of course she got to meet me too and was excited to hear about my blog.

This is me and Ann...

BBQ

This is a very unsightly picture of my underparts.

I'm only letting you see it because I was so excited and jumping up and down because I was getting to eat some of the BBQ that my parents had for dinner.

They ate at a place called Oklahoma Joe's.  They showed me this picture of their food.

This is it:

Doesn't it look good?

It is good!

Ahoy!

Today my parents took me on a boat on a lake.  I wore a life jacket.

Dad drove and Mom took pictures.
We went under a bridge and bounced up and down a lot.

I think I enjoyed it but I'm not sure.  Do I look happy in this picture?

Cardinal Creek Golf Course

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day!

Yesterday my parents took me to the Cardinal Creek Golf Course at Scott AFB for breakfast.

We ate outdoors and then I went to check out the fairway on the tenth hole.

Aren't I - I mean isn't it - beautiful?

Time in my Airstream with Chip

Well, it is happening again - my parents have been leaving me in my Airstream and going about their business without me...

So I won't feel bad they bought me a new stuffed animal for a friend.  Meet Chip.

Chip is very nice but he doesn't make up for the companionship of my parents....and he never offers me anything to eat!
